Description
Summary:The drug lisdexamfetamine is now widely used in the treatment of attention‐deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and there have been patient reports of skin eruptions after taking this drug. Here, we present the case of a patient with ADHD who was started on lisdexamfetamine and then presented with recrudescent acne. The drug lisdexamfetamine is now widely used in the treatment of attention‐deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and there have been patient reports of skin eruptions after taking this drug. We present a patient with ADHD who was started on lisdexamfetamine and then developed recrudescent acne. She did not improve with oral isotretinoin (to which she had previously responded) and oral erythromycin, but remitted promptly when lisdexamfetamine was withdrawn. There are many similar unvalidated reports on the internet.
