Structural characterization of polycrystalline gallium-substituted cobalt ferrites
CoFexGa2-xO4 ceramics with x = 0.25, 0.5, 0.75, 1.00, 1.25, 1.5 and 1.75 were prepared from oxides. XRD shows complete solid solubility between CoFe2O4 and CoGa2O4 at 1273 K, the firing temperature. Cation distributions between the A and B sites were calculated from XRD intensities using the R-facto...

Summary: | CoFexGa2-xO4 ceramics with x = 0.25, 0.5, 0.75, 1.00, 1.25, 1.5 and 1.75 were prepared from oxides. XRD shows complete solid solubility between CoFe2O4 and CoGa2O4 at 1273 K, the firing temperature. Cation distributions between the A and B sites were calculated from XRD intensities using the R-factor method. The Co3+ virtually occupies only B sites. Distribution of Fe3+ and Ga3+ between A and B sites depends on the value of x. 17 refs. |
