Description
Summary:This research paper is an attempt to collect information about the wind turbines performance in Karnataka using multi sensors system to collect the data about how much voltage and current is produced and to calculate the speed of the turbines, how it varies throughout the year and also to see the health condition of wind turbines. Mainly, should overcome the vibrations produced by the rotation of the wind turbines, because it damages the wind turbines i.e. reduces the life of turbines. Need to calculate the rotational speed and pitch angle, here pitch angle matters the speed of the rotation of the turbines, by this performance and efficiency of the turbines can be determined. Introducing the multi sensors in the wind turbines of Karnataka, to improve the data collection and efficiency of the wind turbines production. In Karnataka, wind turbines sites do not use the multi sensors system monitoring. It has to be installed to get know the correlation between the wind turbines working conditions and both electrical and vibration signals. No multi sensors system is used. Only the speed of the wind and turbines are calculated. At these monthly and hourly recordings are done, but those data may not help. Here at these this sites multi sensors system should be placed to calculate the speed of the wind, directions of the wind flowing(NEWS), rotational speed of the turbines, current and voltages produced, and all these data are continuously updated to the system. The overall efficiency can be calculated and proper action can be taken to produce good efficiency and increase the life duration the wind turbines. Instead of collecting data once in few months or years, receiving data daily based on the sensors used on the wind turbines to database system at a far distance from it.
