Description
Summary:The Awareness Enhancement Device (AED) described by Rapp, Miltenberger, and Long (1998) was used with one typically developing child to treat her finger sucking. Substantial reductions in finger sucking were observed only with the addition of a more intense tone delivered via a remote control device. The use of the AED to produce reductions in target behaviors by automatically delivering a stimulus contingent on the behavior or by cueing a change agent to initiate an additional intervention is discussed.
