Description
Summary:The electric power distribution system from power plants to electric power loads is designed in such a way that it is an efficient grid system. Changes in load at any time result in changes in the amount of power generated. Likewise, on the other hand, changes in generating power will also change the flow of power from the generator to the load. Contingency analysis is intended to determine the condition of the power flow as a result of the discharge of a line to the network or other lines. Contingency selection is carried out to determine the severity of a network by calculating the line performance index (IP) value. The power flow calculation is carried out using the Newton-Raphson method. The results obtained obtained 5 lines that have a higher IP than the slack bus, so the 5 lines are simulated by removing the line from the power flow model. It is also obtained that these 5 lines affect the power flow of other lines, also increasing the generation of reactive power and power losses in the lines.
