Summary: | This article describes the journey the authors took in discovering a new distal radioulnar joint prosthesis. The beginning deals with the problems we can potentially create for patients when we blindly follow the literature without any critical thinking. By challenging the established thinking on the function of the forearm, a new way of looking at the distal radioulnar joint emerged. Through trial, error and a moment of desperation, a new solution was found that allow us to relive pain and improve function for our patients with distal radioulnar joint pathologies. |
