Description
Summary:In recent years a modern lightning detection network has been installed all over Thailand. It is a LINET system that exploits the VLF/LF frequency regime and works with the precise TOA technique. Detection efficiency, location accuracy, and 3D reporting of cloud strokes are provided at a high quality level. Application tools have been implemented, such as cell recognition and nowcasting that enable warning and alarm, and are useful for aviation, power grid operation, and all branches that are sensitive to thunderstorms and related lightning danger. Network expansions around Thailand are under way.
