Summary:	The article considers the problems of assessing the ecological state of the water body and the surrounding area in the municipalities of St. Petersburg. The necessity of using the methods of express-control to determine the state of different media to obtain reliable operational information. A new method of making an informed decision on the territory management based on the results of express-control is proposed. The results of the study of the water body and adjacent areas are presented.
