Description
Summary:This article discusses the co-production of public goods and services from an integrative view. It starts from the proposition that transparency, information, trust, participation, and accountability are structural elements of co-production to suggest an integrative view of this phenomenon based on the approach of Mary Parker Follett, considering the interrelationships of these elements to support the necessary understanding of a complex, multifaceted, and deliberate process. This is a theoretical-analytical study, combining inductive and deductive elements, with a qualitative approach, through narrative review and systematic review of the national and international academic production. The results emphasize that the co-production of public goods and services is a complex task based on the systemic perspective of the association of individuals in groups, pointing to the presence of interrelated elements, and demanding social cohesion that can be consequential and catalyst of these elements.
