Summary:	Primary melanoma of the female urethra is very rare. Early diagnosis is very difficult and thus involves a long-term non-resolutive therapeutic approach. This paper presents the case of a 61-year old female patient with this type of tumour and nodular dissemination at the time of diagnosis. The patient developed lung and cranial metastasis with 5-year survival.
