Summary:During the expedition Arktika 2012 carried out on the diesel icebreaker Kapitan Dranitsyn and research submarines of the Russian Ministry of Defense on September 821, 2012, the seamounts of the Mendeleev Ridge were investigated. The works were conducted by the Open Joint Stock Company Sevmorgeo with specialists invited from other organizations. The geological team from the Research Institute VNIIOkeangeologiya was responsible for bottom sampling. The purpose of the expedition was to obtain new geological-geophysical data on the structure of this area of the Arctic basin.
