| Summary: | THE EFFECTS OF SWIMMING SPORT, ONE OF THE MAIN SPORTS BRANCHES TO PHYSiAL FITTINGNESS OF CHILDREN IN ELEMENTARY EDUCATION PERIOD The aim of the research is to compare physical abilities of two groups with some defined parameters, one group at the age 10 attending swimming sports, the other same age doing no sports. In our study 25 girls and 25 boys at the age of 10, totally 50 sportsman from 2 clubs of Istanbul, as Sports Club and FB Sports Club Swimmers Department, have participated. At the same time, 50 students; 25 girls and 25 boys, whohave done no sports, from Kaptan Hasan Pa~a Elementary School in Istanbul, at the age 10, have participated ,too. In each measurement lenght, width,circumference and underskin fat tissue thickness are done. From the obtained datas, cormique index, biacromial index, chest perimeter index, body mass index, mucle mass index, body lean fat, fat weight and Yuhazs %fat, Thenk-tipton %fat, Lange% fat, Duming Womersley % fat values and somototypes has been determined.In all parameters at p>0,005 level relationships between groups are searched.,t'; In our workout, swimmers group height averages, in each gerder, are found, higher than school group. Swimmers group weight mean averages, in each gender, are found less than school group. In both gerder, swimmers group stroke length mean averages are found higher than school group. Additionally in both gender values of height means are found short.In both gerder,swimmers group sitting height average mean is found higher than school group.In all width measurements done ,when shoulder width mean values are compared , in both gender, swimmers group mean values are found higher than school group. In the assessments done, 13 circumference measurements from wrists and ankles, in both gerder, have the same type of values. Additionally, all other circumference are found higher in swimmers group than the other.Chest perimeter index,mucle mass index swimmers group. School group's body mass index values ,in both gerder, are found higher.In 4 type of fat values calculated, in both gerder, school group is higher compared to swimmers group. |
