Summary: | New write-once optical media comprising the azulenium dye film are reported. Azulenium dyes having strong absorbance in the near infrared range are synthesized and studied about their optical and thermal properties. The dye film made by a spin-coating process, has a sufficient absorbance and reflectance at a wave length of 830nm. The new media, comprising the dye film have high recording sensitivity and a sharp threshold in recording characteristics. |
