Description
Summary:Potential sports disciplines are those with a promising outlook for successful development. Currently, the identification of these potential disciplines relies heavily on traditional methods. The aim of this research is to develop and implement a management information system to better identify these potential sports disciplines. This study adopts a research and development approach and was conducted at the National Sports Committee of Cilacap Regency, Central Java, using 16 sports disciplines selected through purposive sampling techniques. Data analysis focused on the total scores obtained from each indicator within the information system. The analysis results show the following scores for the 16 team sports disciplines: Soccer (316), Boxing (307), Volleyball (229), Pencak Silat (201), Sepak Takraw (187), Chess (186), Badminton (164), Gymnastics (158), Basketball (136), Table Tennis (129), Archery (127), Petanque (123), Lawn Tennis (121), Rowing (116), Rugby (109), and Athletics (85). The conclusion of this research is that the designed information system can effectively serve as a tool to identify potential regional sports disciplines. The top five potential sports disciplines identified in the National Sports Committee of Cilacap Regency are soccer, boxing, volleyball, pencak silat, and sepak takraw.
