Thin film pH-sensitive hydrogel based chemiresponsive surface plasmon resonance device

A pH-sensitive hydrogel of thickness ca. 150 nm was coated on gold nanoparticle based plasmonic crystals fabricated on glass substrates to produce a chemiresponsive sensor that shifts the resonance peak around 20 nm in the near-infrared spectrum.
