Summary: | The use of industrial pozzolan and pearlite waste in the ceramics industry was examined. Charges containing 30-50% filler (pozzolan or swollen pearlite) and 50-70% Armenian clay were prepared and fired at 1000-1050 C. The fired products have good strength, heat resistance, and resistance to aggressive media. The waste is of particular interest for producing high- quality, thin-walled (1.5-3 mm) artistic ceramics, as well as for the production of acid-resistant mixtures for lining chemical reactors, walls and ceilings. 2 refs. |
