Description
Summary:Studies have demonstrated that the surface treatment of an amorphous magnetically soft Co–Ni–Fe–Cr–Mn–Si–B alloy ribbon with acetone exerts an effect on the change in magnetic characteristics with time. The observed change in the maximum magnetic permeability is associated with changing the magnetization distribution in the ribbon under the influence of stresses induced by diffusion processes at room temperature. These include surface crystallization processes accompanied by the redistribution of hydrogen and oxygen atoms intruded at an increased temperature due to the interaction between the ribbon surface and the atmospheric vapor. The effect of stresses induced by diffusion processes is different for states with various signs of the magnetostriction constant.
