New benzyl alcohol glycosides from Pyrus bourgaeana

Two new aromatic glycosides, benzyl beta-D-glucopyranosyl-(1-->2)-[beta-D-apiofuranosyl-(1-->6)]-beta- D- glucopyranoside and p-[beta-D-apiofuranosyl-(1-->6)]-beta-D- glucopyranosyloxy-benzylic alcohol, have been isolated from the aerial parts of Pyrus bourgaeana (Rosaceae). The structures...

Description
Summary:Two new aromatic glycosides, benzyl beta-D-glucopyranosyl-(1-->2)-[beta-D-apiofuranosyl-(1-->6)]-beta- D- glucopyranoside and p-[beta-D-apiofuranosyl-(1-->6)]-beta-D- glucopyranosyloxy-benzylic alcohol, have been isolated from the aerial parts of Pyrus bourgaeana (Rosaceae). The structures were elucidated by spectral analyses (including 2D-NMR spectral measurements) and chemical methods. Arbutin and four other aromatic glycosides have also been isolated and identified.
