Description
Summary:The adenomatoid odontogenic (AOT) tumor is a neoplasm of rare epithelial origin, relatively uncommon, affecting mainly female individuals during the second decade of life. It is more common in the maxilla, being associated with retained teeth, asymptomatic and slow growth, rarely exceeding 3 cm. The objective of this work is to present a clinical case of a 16-year-old patient with melanoderma with complaint of pain and bleeding in the region of the dental elements 41-43. Intraoral clinical examination revealed buccal and lingual bulging of the affected region, suggestive of odontogenic origin. The radiographic aspect was a lesion with radiolucent image well delimited and root displacement involved teeth. Histopathologically, spindle epithelial cells were observed, structures similar to tubes and foci of calcification involving a fibrous capsule, with diagnosis of adenomatoid odontogenic tumor. The patient was submitted to enucleation of the lesion and is in follow-up and without relapse.
