Summary:The article is devoted to the topical issue of dynamics prediction for a composite wide - chord fan blade with effective elastic constants properties of the equivalent homogeneous material. Modeling and numerical investigation of natural frequencies and modes of the blade were performed by the finite element method using ANSYS software package. In the numerical investigation, the orthotropic properties of the equivalent homogeneous material are specified in the local coordinate systems of finite elements and follow the spatial geometry of the blade structure. Two sets of calculations have been carried out, with specifying of the equivalent homogeneous material properties warpwise and weftwise, as well as their comparing. The developed numerical method enables solving problems of dynamic strength at the designing stage of composite structures creation by means of modern software solutions using finite elements method in mathematical framework.
