Description
Summary:This study describes the development, execution, and outcomes of a health and wellness program at a certified clubhouse in Southwest Florida. Individuals with severe mental illnesses are at a higher risk of co-morbid health problems and lower quality of life. The Healthy Lifestyles Design Program consisted of 16 sessions and educated members about the topics of nutrition, physical activity, spirituality, and tobacco awareness through engagement in meaningful goal-directed occupations. The projected outcomes were to empower members to engage in healthy lifestyle activities and establish resources for members within the clubhouse and community for sustainable health and wellness.
