Description
Summary:The citrate−nitrate combustion reaction was used for mixed NiO−YSZ (yttria-stabilized zirconia) preparation. This system was chosen because of its nonviolent nature and its potential use in nanosized YSZ-based cermets and in some electrocatalytic applications such as fuel cells. The kinetic and thermodynamic parameters of the combustion system were studied using wave velocity analysis, the Boddington method, and the Freeman−Carroll method. The calculated activation energies of the combustion system using these three kinetic analysis approaches were 65.4, 61.4, and 60.6 kJ/mol, respectively. The obtained thermodynamic and kinetic parameters of the citrate−nitrate system were also used for a computer simulation of the combustion temperature profiles and the apparent conversion profiles.
