Description
Summary:Hinterland is an isolated and backward region that still needs attention. Hinterland empowerment that focuses on one place is expected to get more obvious results. Therefore, in its current program, the study center for empowering the islands and borders of Politeknik Negeri Batam will focus its research activities and community services to one of the hinterland in Batam. Batam has 14 hinterland, where each hinterland is considered from 6 criteria (natural resources, education, technology, economy, electricity, transportation) and its sub-criteria. Analytic Network Process (ANP) is used because it is most suitable for getting a choice of hinterland with good resources but lacking in empowerment. In addition, with the ANP method, the relationship between criteria and sub criteria can be known. The results obtained from this study are the selection of one hinterland, namely Temoyong which has the highest priority value, so it is worth recommending to be the object of study. In addition, the best criteria priority is the level of economy and natural resources.
