Summary: | With the dissolution of the Supreme Council of Women, the Women's Organization of Iran was replaced in 1345 by Ashraf Pahlavi. The purpose of its establishment was to promote the status of women, acquaint women with their rights and duties, mobilize them to participate in social activities, coordinate the activities of various communities of Iranian women and establish mutual understanding and relations between them and women of other countries. This government organization until 1357, had more than four hundred branches throughout the country, had become the largest organization working in the field of women. The purpose of the present study is to analyze the contexts and motivations effective in the formation of the Iranian Women's Organization. Why and how was Iran formed? The findings show that the large number of women populations in the years after the fall of Reza Khan's government necessitated the convergence of populations and the formation of the High Council of Women. Simultaneously with the government and the White Shah Revolution, the government, through the dissolution of the High Council of Women and the establishment of the Women's Organization, in addition to preventing the activities of independent women's organizations, promoted women's programs towards its development goals. |
