Summary:The carnivorous pitcher plant genus Nepenthes (Nepenthaceae) is thought to comprise more than 120 species, with a geographical range that extends from Madagascar and the Seychelles in the west, through Southeast Asia to New Caledonia in the east. There are three foci of diversity – Borneo, Sumatra, and the Philippines – which account for more than 75% of all known species.
