Tunnel ventilation and safety in escape routes

Almost all Dutch tunnels are provided with escape corridors between the tunnel tubes with escape doors on a spacing of about 100 m. These tunnels are equipped with longitudinal ventilation. Only unidirectional traffic is allowed in each tube.
