Summary:Plasma levels of C-reactive protein were measured 72 hours after successful coronary artery stenting in 76 patients with stable angina pectoris. At 12-month follow-up, the cumulative event rate was higher in patients with abnormal levels of C-reactive protein than that observed in patients with normal C-reactive protein who were event free.
