Description
Summary:Objective: to grasp the every day of the professionals in the primary care health service in the cases of violence against children. Methods: this is a qualitative study conducted in nine Basic Health Units. For analysis of the material, the Content Analysis was used, specifically thematic analysis. Results: the speeches of professionals allowed the construction of two themes: Professionals facing cases of violence against children: between reason and emotion; Integration of health services, education, justice, and community: opportunities and challenges for addressing violence against children. Conclusion: the facilities to cope with the violence against children were much smaller than the difficulties, especially those related to absence family protocols and lack of in-service training.
