Electrochemical hydrogenation properties of LaNi sub(4.6)Zn sub(0.4-x)Sn sub(x) alloys

A series of five LaNi sub(4.6)Zn sub(0.4-x)Sn sub(x) alloys (x = 0-0.4) has been investigated in view of their electrochemical hydrogen capacity and exchange current density of H sub(2)O/H sub(2) system. The hydrogenation parameters are similar to those of LaNi sub(5) parent compound when part of ni...

Description
Summary:A series of five LaNi sub(4.6)Zn sub(0.4-x)Sn sub(x) alloys (x = 0-0.4) has been investigated in view of their electrochemical hydrogen capacity and exchange current density of H sub(2)O/H sub(2) system. The hydrogenation parameters are similar to those of LaNi sub(5) parent compound when part of nickel is substituted either with Zn or with Sn. Simultaneous presence of Zn and Sn reveals its synergistic outcome and is prone to evident improvement of alloy hydrogenation properties.
