Description
Summary:An Area Radiation Gamma and Neutron Origin Telemetry mobile detection system has been developed implementing Dual Sided Microstructured Semiconducting Neutron Detectors and SrI 2 gamma-ray detectors to aid in the alerting to and locating of special nuclear material. ARGANOT modules allow for overt or covert operation with battery life lasting greater than 10-18 hours. Operators are alerted to the presence of radiation, can view accumulated count rates, and can view the gamma-ray spectrum to aid in source identification. Future models will incorporate GADRAS, dose monitoring capabilities, more efficient DS-MSND detectors, and directional algorithms.
