Summary:Rationale of the research in a field of benign dishormonal breast disease is described. Clinical data indicate that increased incidence of benign dishormonal breast disease is followed by the increase of thyroid morbidity. Thyroid hypofunction is shown as having an unfavorable role in the onset and course of dishormonal breast disorders and breast cancer. Clinical data are presented indicating the improve of the course and prognosis of dishormonal breast disease and breast cancer in patients receiving thyroid hormone medication.
