Summary:Moroccan poets writing in French are being recognized for their perseverance in creating a literary form in the face of cultural division. They have been able to address issues of the Arabic culture in the language of the colonial power that has been the adversary for decades. Before 1965, only four books of poetry by Moroccan poets had been published. Since 1980, at least 65 books by 49 authors have seen publication. A survey of contemporary authors and titles is included.
