Causes for splenic infarction 1 - 3 include thromboembolic disorders, haematologic disease (haemoglobinopathies, leukaemia, lymphoma, myelofibrosis, polycythemia vera), splenic vascular disease, vasculitis, portal hypertension, infiltrative disorders, and pancreatic disease.
