Description
Summary:School attendance is a determining factor in students' academic performance. However, checking attendance is still challenging for many educational institutions despite technological advances. Traditional methods using roll calls and signing attendance sheets are time-consuming and can distract students. Furthermore, they are susceptible to errors and fraud. Faced with these challenges, educational institutions must seek innovative solutions that are efficient, safe, and accessible. The methodology followed an exhaustive systematic review of the literature, and thirty-three works were found. The objective was to identify and understand partial or complete solutions for student attendance using Bluetooth. Therefore, this work contributes with information regarding technologies, programming languages, types of mechanisms for storing data, hardware, operational system, communication protocol, types of authentication for security, and software artifacts used in specifying the solutions.
