Diastolic function parameters are improved by the addition of simvastatin to enalapril-based treatment in hypertensive individuals

Highlights ► Diastolic dysfunction is frequent and increases mortality [1] . ► Pre-clinical data suggest that statins improve diastolic function. ► In this randomized controlled trial, the addition of simvastatin to enalapril in hypertensive patients improves parameters of diastolic function.
