Description
Summary:An experimental facility, Probkotron, for determining the correlation coefficients of free-neutron beta -decay has been developed on the basis of a superconducting magnet system. The magnetic field distribution meets some special requirements on the magnetic field magnitude, configuration, and homogeneity to provide the conditions for the experiment. To improve the facility duty factor some measures were undertaken during the magnet design development to shorten the field reversal time. Magnet system parameters are presented, and preliminary results of the high field coil test are given.< >
