Summary: | Intraperitoneal drains are widely used in surgery for therapeutic or diagnostic purposes. The placement of drains following pancreaticoduodenectomy may decrease postoperative complications. Commonly reported complications of intraperitoneal drains include pressure necrosis with bleeding, viscus perforation, fistula formation, and mechanical bowel obstruction. We report a rare complication of drain tip migration and erosion into the liver parenchyma. |
